Rep. Royce's Fullerton district office is a collection site for the national "Donate A Phone" campaign to collect old wireless phones. The phones will be re-programmed to give domestic violence victims instant access to call for help in a dangerous situation. "The phones will provide domestic violence victims with a lifeline in an emergency," Royce said. "This is a way for us to help protect victims from the horror and fear of domestic violence." Statistics show that every 15 seconds a crime of battery occurs, while each day more than 5,000 women are assaulted. The program, started by the Wireless Foundation, Motorola and National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, is designed to collect old wireless phones then refurbish, re-program, and distribute them to victims in need. To date, thousands of people across the country have donated their phones. Unfortunately, there are an estimated 4 million domestic violence victims each year, so more phones are needed. If you have a wireless phone you are no longer using, please donate it today at: Rep. Royce's Fullerton Office: 305 N. Harbor Blvd., Suite 300 Fullerton, CA 92832 (714) 992-8081
